Puddle Ducks Pre-School started long before the name, we first opened for business in 2001 and have been serving Alvingham and the surrounding areas ever since. We are a small setting based on the edge of a farm.   We offer all-round care for children  0-12+. Before and after school care and holiday clubs too, 49 weeks of the year.

Puddle Ducks Pre-School Aim is :-

To provide good quality childcare all year round.

To work in partnership with parents/ carers and the local community.

To provide a secure, fun and creative environment for children to develop emotionally, physically, intellectually, creatively and socially.

To provide a varied selection of activities and games including sports and music sessions and multi-cultural activities.

To provide an affordable childcare alternative for those who would otherwise be unable to return to employment.

To ensure our policies and procedures are followed and assessed for their effectiveness.

To offer training to staff members and placements for childcare students. 

To offer opportunities of employment to the community.

To work within an Equal Opportunities framework.



For us to gain these aims Puddle Duck's does not just use one approach, as we believe that all our children are different and learn in different ways. 



Puddle Ducks uses real materials where possible, we cannot do this all the time, so this is why we say we have adopted the Montessori and Reggio approach as we love the children to enjoy the setting inside and out.

Puddle Ducks now has a Forest School, we have the use of a woodland area, where we use the materials from the wood and experience learning through following our Forest school sessions woodland area.  We take all children who are due to start school the following September to the woods every day, they have a forest school session every day along with following the EYFS, we are using the Developmental Matter frame work since September 2021. 



Puddle Ducks learning approach uses the above methods so that children have the opportunity to develop and grow at their own pace and in a way that best suits them, we believe at Puddle Ducks that every child is unique and special and our family approach is paramount for this to happen.
